What is Placeology?

Placeology is a platform for sharing, exploring, and discussing places. Use it to show the world the places you love (or don't) from your city, or to show your neighbors the kind of places you wish your city had.

How does it work?

Upload photos and tell us what you like (or don't like) about them. Vote on places others have shared, and leave comments to explain what you think.

For communities

Use Placeology as a visual preference survey. We'll setup a project page, and your stakeholders can use it to share how they feel about the local built environment. We can help you use this insight to guide your development policy.

For professionals

When people share photos on Placeology we classify the photos according to a rich, transect-based taxonomy. Become a pro subscriber and gain powerful taxonomic searching and high-res downloads.
